I used to love the Film programme. Back in the day of Barry Norman it was unmissable. I stopped watching when Jonathan Ross took over in the late 90s because I felt like it got slightly dumbed down for
his
audience and he obviously found it too difficult to review a film impartially (especially when he has the stars of the film on his mediocre chat show a few days later). When he left earlier this year, I thought I'd give new host Claudia Winkleman the benefit of the doubt and tune it. Oh dear. This woman is terrible at hosting a programme like this. Every two minutes it was "I love this, I love that, I love him, I love her.". Perhaps Winkleman just isn't discerning enough - or perhaps she's too afraid to be critical. Perhaps it's a bit of both. Regardless, this series is now in an inappropriate late night time slot because it is clearly aimed at teens who are still at school.
