Hate speech when it does occur at previously.tv, and it rarely does, and is pretty tame is nipped in the bud by mods who include among their crew feminist and LBGT supporters.
One thing previously.tv has that IMDb doesn't have is the ability to "like" posts when you don't necessarily want to say anything. And the "likes" are hearts!

@PTV, there was a thread on this weeks SVU episode that was getting a little off topic and the mod showed up and posted a "gentle reminder" to get back on topic. They were nice about it, but it's a whole different ball game over there. It's a nice change. I'm sure the stuff that goes on here will never happen there.
The only thing that's kind of weird is that it's one thread per episode. There's no starting new threads for something that's not episode centric. Just takes some getting used to.

I know much, much smaller forums have a handful of human mods that pop in from time to time and clean house, but I didn't expect anything human with the reporting system here.

There are no live mods. It's an automated system If a poster, causing a problem, rises to the level of someone like Nancy, an actual human will get involved, but that's about the only time.

I think the IMDb Mods are just a computer algorithm, to be honest.

It's not and the mods there are actually better than IMDB mods

I will probably stick to previously tv, it seems to have lots of good, balanced discussion while Reddit sounds like an MH/Olivia circle jerk and I've heard Reddit is a haven for SJW snowflakes as well, they would probably kick me off for being anti Benson and anti preachy episodes.

Reddit is amazing! I have been a redditor for a long time. You can find anything and everything there! I have never encountered trolls, but I think it because of the choice of subs I prefer. Go check it out. Search something odd and I guarantee there will either already be an existing sub for it, or a ton of posts about it somewhere on reddit.
Also, the Secret Santa and Reddit Gift Exchanges are a total blast!!
