I know I'm in the minority here, but my favorite Spongebob eps are the weirdest - I love the darker humor, and I think the animation really peaked quality-wise and creatively during these seasons.
Has anyone else noticed that they NEVER play some of the more 'out there' episodes? Most notably (to me),'Squidward in Clarinetland' and 'A Pal For Gary.' (the latter of which nearly gave me a panic attack - something I'll never forget. I'm still amazed to this day that a kid's show could do that.)
I rarely see my other favorites, like 'Not Normal' and 'Two Faces of Squidward' either - same goes for many of the other 'disturbing' episodes people have mentioned here, like 'Boating Buddies' or 'One Coarse Meal'I wonder if it's intentional on Nick's part, or just luck of the draw?
On top of that, tonight, I saw a bunch of SB seasons for sale at Target - 1-5, and 8.
No 6 & 7.
Any thoughts on this?
