That reminds me of an episode of Spongebob where Patrick sees Gary, but doesn't tell Spongebob that he sees him, even though Spongebob is looking for him.

I love how it's a running joke on the show that Patrick is so dense that he forgets to tell SpongeBob obvious stuff that he needs to know. The name tag episode is another example, and it takes them nearly arguing for Patrick to tell SpongeBob where his name tag is.
