<p dir="auto">Wrongs of the past are not a defense for wrongs in the present or future. We are supposed to learn from our mistakes, not recreate them.<br />
People should care because this is their country sanctioning a potential genocide. These were people who considered us allies and were fighting and dying in our interests. We propped them up and now we are leaving them on their own. Many people will die because of this betrayal, and the deaths will be in our name.</p>
