I am just curious how many people actually knew or read somewhere that the events in the film are supposed to be modeled after the types of sins described in Dante's inferno? I actually had a class on Italian history in 2004 and we watched Hannibal and had to notice who is guilty of which sin.

This is really interesting, something I never would have picked up on. Now I'll have to go back and watch the movie with Cliff Notes in hand.
Thanks for the heads up!

That's interesting, I didn't know that.
It's been a very long time since I've read Dante, so bear with me because I really don't remember names/terms
I'm assuming the Italian cop who was gutted and hanged has something to do with causing discord between the FBI and the Florence police. "Observe me in the contrapasso"
Annnnddd I've stared at my screen for 5 minutes so I don't think I can remember anything else from Dante. Oh my god I feel old.
