Ken is an early millennial and Will is an early Gen Z. Will was obvious and easy to tell apart from millennials but Ken was acting really hard to be like Gen X which he isn't.
Survivor producers were close but some idiots like Ellen Degeneres said the millennials were born between 1982 and 2004. 2004?? Seriously..

Yeah, Paul looked like a legit baby boomer to me. My parents are baby boomers so I noticed the similarities.
I once thought that the people born in 1980 and 1981 were Gen Xers until I watched some tv shows from the early 2000s when these people were in their twenties. I honestly couldn't tell them apart from the other millennials I grew up with. Whenever I see Gen Xer though, I can instantly tell they aren't similar.
Those born in 1980 and 1981 are not Gen Xers. People born from 1980-1982 (and 1983 in some sense) are really what in my opinion you would call "Xennials" as some experts I have read have called them. They have attributes of both Gen X and Y and are really not fully tied down to either generation.
And no, I wouldn't consider those born in the latter part of the 90s to 2000s to be millennials either. That is silly. People born from about 1995 on wouldn't remember the turn of the century in the least and for those that were born in the 2000s well they weren't even alive when they clock striked 1/1/2000 for crying out loud. They are full blown Gen Z.

Generations are not perfect. I have been studying the generations in America for about a year and have seen many definitions. It depends on the source. Yes, I noticed about Ken and Will. I was born in 1981. Ken was born in 1982. Both of us are on the gen x/millennial cusp. Will is on the millennial/gen z cusp. I also want to point out that Paul was born in 1963 and is on the baby boomer/gen x cusp.

Ken's age was a bit of a head scratcher, but I think it had more to do with his old soul. He is sort of on the bubble or just barely a Millennial, but he acts like and has ideology more in line with a Gex Xer.

Yeah I agree that early 30 year olds are more similar to Millennials than Gen X. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Yeah, I felt closest to Jay, Zeke and Adam, age-wise. The youngest millennials right now are 20-21 years old. I'm 25 and I've interacted with many people who were born in 1994-1995 and they definitely did not resemble millennials much. 1996 kids definitely not millennials.
Most of them were too young to remember our childhood TV shows or millennial culture as a whole. They know nothing about Windows 98, xp, chat rooms, Yahoo and MSN messenger, floppy discs, dial-up connections and thousands of other things
I think they seperated the groups based on perception a tiny bit. Like, no 33 y.o. off-the-grid outdoorsman could ever be put in a group with some 23 year old dude-bro who posts pictures of his undercut on Instagram (Taylor), or an ironically mustachioed gay hipster (Zeke). But I know LOTS of people in their early 30s who are both of those things lol. And then, producers probably wanted someone who is just about 3/4 of the way through puberty but old enough to actually go on the show just to really exaggerate the idea of the millineals being young as fnck (Will).
Lol this paragraph is perfection :))

Yea. I'm not sure about the technicalities, but I am 27 and I feel like people around ken's age are my direct peers. And I don't see how a 12 year old is in the same generation as me. I don't even consider 21 year olds to be part of my generation. My sister's are GenX. Born in the early 70s. They are 44 and 45. To me, GenX is all about the college-aged kids in the 90s.
BTW, I was surprised to find out he's only 33. I thought that he was in his early 40s. Don't mean that as an insult. Like many viewers, I thought he was shamefully hot, but he just looks older. Plus he was labeled a GenX-er, so I assumed he had to be at least LATE 30s.
