I have been reading a lot of negative reviews on this movie especially on the plot of the film. I guess many just don't get the plot. The whole idea of this film is about a guy who found the true meaning of courage. Right from the beginning that was the idea and the concept. A seemingly brave soldier who is the cream of the crop in the British Military and has nothing to be afraid of. What we are not told initially however is that he hides a layer of fear and it is through his determination and courage that he gets over this feeling. Even then he wasn't quite sure about this natural fearful feeling that he had to ask - not in verbatim - " why doesn't the feeling of fear go away", to which he was replied that it never goes off. Ultimately he learns albeit in the most difficult, unconventional manner that fear will always be there but it is courage and determination that gets you through any challenges. It is a great analogy to our daily lives. Just because somebody is courageous, doesn't mean there's no fear in them.

He wasn't courageous at all. First, he doubted himself after doing what he felt was right. Second, he let peer pressure push him into doing something he knew he should not. Third, he took part in a murderous rampage against strangers only to make rich people richer. Fourth, he wanted forgiveness from others who were wrong when he was right. He became more cowardly as the movie progressed.
