<p dir="auto">What this movie needed was an opening scene or a flashback to when Harry was 6-7 listening to his Father and Col. Sutch discussing war. That scene is in the book. It had a profound impact on Harry, causing him to have nightmares about fighting.<br />
The second one would be a modified scene. Instead of the regiment finding out they were going to war, Harry (again from the book) finds out first; submits his resignation and leaves, then the regiment finds out. This makes his cowardness more severe than in the movie.<br />
Thoughts?</p>
