We should be striving for sustainability. That doesn't mean depopulation, it means new technologies that enable more efficient use of resources. Fusion energy would eliminate much of the need for fossil fuels. Food production can be optimized with something like vertical farming. Artificial meat would eliminate the need to raise livestock. The world doesn't need less people. It needs a better design.
