All of them. A bunch of pretentious middle aged drama queens.

Taylor Keith’s neice was a total BITCH capital B!! And Ruth was a total loon!!! I almost stopped watching because of these two witches. Good God.

The characters I really didn't care for were:

1. Narssistic Nate
2. Crappy Claire
3. Ghastly George
4. Brilliant Brenda
5. Claire's art teacher
6. Remorseful Ruth (although she started becoming so likable before George came into her life)
   I really liked David, Nathaniel Sr., and Cathy Bates' Character

Loved her. Her and David were the best people on the show.

I did not care for Brenda at all. She came across as a pseudo-intellectual and I hated the way she treated Nate.

Brenda and Billy's mother was most annoying. She was so self absorbed that she was stomach turning to watch. No wonder Billy and Brenda each had issues.

Surprised no one has mentioned Olivier in this thread. Smug, pretentious, a bully, and a long-term partner to that horrible trollop Margaret Chenowith. Those are the only two who show no real redeeming qualities or personal growth - although at a stretch you could say Olivier playing happily with Maya and helping Claire out with her NYC lead (albeit a dead-end) were some small token of redemption.
Mind you, I guess neither of these characters

me exactly, I just found them hateful. None of the characters really annoyed me because they were all so well-crafted and acted.
I definitely don't understand the hatred for Lisa - I thought she was sweet, and earnest and loving mother and partner, and very considerate to others. You can't really blame her for becoming a bit needy when married to the elusive Nate.

I didn't think any of the main characters were annoying. Even Brenda & Lisa. I really liked those characters. The only character I found annoying was Nikolai. But somehow, I loved being annoyed by him.

She was annoying all right but very realistic. Reminds me of all the women out there who don't know how good they have it. I think she should have been more supportive of Rico. He was a good man.

I thought Vannesa was pretty annoying, and her face always reminded me of a chipmunk.

Maggie was one of those people who
believes
she is a nice/good person. But in reality, she is only nice/good for lack of opportunity to be naughty. The instant she had a chance, she screwed Nate. Nice girls don't screw around with men who have a 7-months pregnant wife at home. Really.

Lisa and Maggie are tied. Both women were annoying for different reasons. Lisa had to be so tough & was completely neurotic. Maggie was so weak and homely.

Brenda. And Billy.

Brenda.and her family! Esp. her mom. Followed by her brother.

Brenda has Nate down to a tee and Nate is a hypocrite. He thinks he's god gift, be he also understands others and connects with their pain. That is why I'd say he was attracted to Brenda.

Nate is probably the worst. He is incredibly selfish and egotistical. His emotional outbursts are, in some ways, worse than Ruth's because whenever he has one he is usually blaming someone else for his problems. Brenda's analysis of him in the last few episodes is pretty spot on. Nate is constantly looking for someone to make him feel better about himself. And if the person can't, or simply stops, he leaves and moves on to the next. Shifting from one relationship or fling to the next, searching for happiness, but incapable of finding it because he is miserable. His frequent mood swings, condescending speeches, and self-indulgent nature are all off-putting.

Even that was a bit of stretch because anyone who has ever taken a urine test knows it's done under very secure environments. Seinfeld did it for laughs (Elaine using Jerry's Mom), but that was a comedy. I didn't mind Taylor because, like you said, she was brought up under very bad circumstances. She reminded me of all the urban kids I'd know in 4th grade as they were generally bratty, had no filter, but were fun to hang with and have on your side.

Taylor was an annoying little girl but it was clear she was truly a product of her environment. Her mother was a selfish drug addict, who was rarely present for her, even using her daughters urine for weekly drug screenings. She was also in the middle of battling family members: mother, uncle and grandparents - ALL toxic people. She really never had a chance. But yes! She was horrible! The actress did a good job-it's not easy (especially for a kid) to portray someone so unlikeable. Her language-especially the homophobic comments were terrible!
