Her character did a lot of soul searching in seasons 3 and 4. A lot of that is off screen.<br />
She decided that she did not want to be her parents and who she had been.</p>

<p dir="auto">Sociopaths are notorious for not changing even while going through negative experiences. She would need serious intervention to bring the imagined sociopathic grandiosity to it’s knees. It’s kind of an abrupt change; but maybe she got an intervention when she disappeared at the end of season 2.<br />
