I just saw the film, and I was confused. When Scooby is watching the screening and hear people laughing drolly at him, they laugh but now and then, but at the end, they also applaud thunderously. If they did not like him, then why did they applaud? I know Scooby said the film will be a hit, and I knew what he meant, that it would not be a good thing for his sake, because he is the laughingstock, but I am just confused. Can someone please explain this? Thanks.

I live near Boston, MA. It's typical for audiences hete to clap during or at the end of a movie if they really like it.
