Ok the first one, the safety catche was on, I get that bit, but when he went for it again the 2nd time round, what stopped him shooting himself then? He turned off the radio when his wife was trying to shout over to him, so what made him withdraw in time?

Just watched this movie and I loved it.
I think he heard his wife banging on the doors - she was screaming that they found a heart. Either that or the "hostages" that were outside heard her and ran to tell him.
I was telling my husband that she should've just spit it out over the radio, whether or not he could hear her. She was just like "John?John?Can you hear me, John???" And I was all "Just spit it out, woman!!!" lol
So much tension in those scenes 😕
