The only thing that I felt this film didn't really do well in describing was why Wombasi was scheduled for termination. It didn't seem as if he was a threat to the CIA until after they tried to kill him and being in exile he probably didn't have too much power anymore. As much as I liked the actor who played Wombasi in other shows he was really difficult to understand in this film. Just wondering if I missed something?
I like Matt Damon and think his Bourne films are really well done, but I do enjoy watching the Richard Chamberlain version from time to time. In that film it is much clearer why he has amnesia although I feel that film is a bit dryer and not as flashy as the Matt Damon version. I think my favorite part of the Chamberlain film is when he is recovering from his wounds in the beginning and the guy who saved him throws him a hand gun and tells him to break it down which he does just like clockwork. Anyone who enjoyed this film might enjoy seeing that older one too, I would recommend it although the plot is much different.

Thanks, I appreciate the Wombosi clarification. I reread the plot on a different website and I still couldn't quite figure out what his deal was.
Yeah, Richard Chamberlain isn't for everyone & the film is quite dated. It does lack the lightning fast fight sequences of the Matt Damon franchise, but I thought the plot was a bit meatier and Treadstone a bit cooler than the new films. As a fan of Chamberlain in the Shogun film/mini series as a kid I guess I enjoyed him in that film as well, but I do agree Matt Damon does a good job. I have yet to read the books however.

He was an irritation before he took powerhe was a problem when he was in power and he's been a disaster for us in exile. He's writing a book about the agency's history in Africa. He's going to name names. It's basically a shakedown. He's demanding the agency's help.
Someone didn't want Wombosi to write that book. Maybe someone involved with Treadstone.
I've seen the Chamberlain version. It was a while but I remember not really liking. Book Bourne is a good fighter. But Bourne in the Chamberlain version was not.
