I have just read a number of user comments on 'Lantana'.
The fact that some clown working for the international distribution company labled 'Lantana' a THRILLER (probably by accident) is a great pity; when surely this film is a DRAMA.
It's an even greater pity that a lot of people who felt it nessesary to criticize this fantastic film on ImDb couldn't erase the mental picture of the word 'Thriller'(seen on the shelf at the video store) from their subconscious, whilst watching.
In my opinion dismis the reviews of those who discribe 'Lantana' as a "Thriller"

Decent point, though I think you'd have to concede that it's the film itself which tries to pull off the 'thriller' trick itself by beginning with a blood-stained body. It's guilty of trying to mislead the viewer, and if some people are put off by what it really is then nobody can really complain.
I think the fact is that some people just don't like serious adult drama - sad but unfortunately true.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks
