Have so many favourites but would have to say
Fugue States - Still get fuzzy cheeks when Frankie sees the photos at the end
End of the Night - All time favourite episode
Sins and End Game - Love Linda Cummings!
In Sight of the Lord - Chilling episode
Care - Great episode
Waterloo - Altough sad it was the last ep, definitely went out with a bang
Magdelene 26 - Loved the look of this episode - seemed very polished
Thin Air - First episode I ever saw
Subterraneans - Was an extra in this episode

Cannot recall the episode name, but the one in which Spencer gets shot after they investigate an old crime that Spencer was on as a Constable.
Cold Fusion. Excellent episode.
The other Spence episode you are talking about is Final Cut where we learn Spence has parents. Not something we can take for granted given how little we learn about the guy over a decade.

Most of the Ed Whitmore episodes are really good actually.

My favorite season is Series 3 - all episodes were riveting. I especially liked Final Cut - it gives us a little of Spence's background.
I found Double Bind and Mask of Sanity especially moving.
Found Deux ex Machina and Yahrzeit very interesting because I'm a history nerd.

Fugue State or Fugue States! It's my favourite episode too! I think Series 4 was the best series overall too!

I loved Fauge Status (sp?? the one with the twins), In Sight of the Lord and Subterraneans
All three had me gripped throughout.amazing episodes

Having now watched every story at least once i've gotta say my favourites are "The hardest word" from series 4 and "Subterraneans" from series 5
I actually think that series 5 has some of the best stories of the entire run even though it gets overlooked as the "one with the BT woman in it".

"Breaking Glass." (Charlie Creed-Miles is amazing in everything I've seen him in.)
"Wren Boys." Something about that one really charmed me.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others.

There are several, but on top would without any doubt be 'End of the night'. And Michelle Dockery is marvelous in that episode.

Mine's Fugue States.

I just watched Yahrzeit and it was a fantastic episode.
You stupid fuckers, you know who you are.

well if I can pick just an episode it would be Yahrzeit. That episode really got to me, I think because it gives some idea of what that time must have been like, and I am sure things did go like that. It really did something to me that episode.
As of stories, between people or something, I don't know actually

I think series 7 and 8 have the best episodes by far. "Skin" and "Sins" in 7, "Magdelene 26" and "End Of The Night" in 8. In series 9 "Harbinger" and the final episode were also very good, but the show has always been let down by often having too convoluted stories.

Have to agree with you totally there, with A Simple Sacrifice being my num 1, i also love Cold Fusion.
