I've seen several lists calling TGND one of the most underrated films of the 2000's so I guess it's a cult classic among some people.

Is it remembered today is
my question
. Will it be one that people remember but didn't fully appreciate in the 00s, or will it be rediscovered around 2019 and a couple years later end up achieving the same status American Pie had from 2000 to whenever those straight to video sequels started.

No, I dont think it is yet, but I do think it will be in another 10 years. This will be one of the few teen comedies remembered from the 90's and 00's.
Still Shooting With Film!

I always loved Timothy Olyphant in the movie, and that was even before I saw Go. I enjoyed seeing Timothy Bottoms as well because I had recently seen him as W. in DC 9/11 so it was quite a contrast!
I actually admired the fact that the plot felt quite a bit different from the premise you'd gather from watching the preview. Kelly seemed to initially enter as a subplot but then what followed became interesting on its own. I think it also helped that the Matthew and Danielle stuff seemed pretty much resolved as soon as he came to the porn convention or whatever, as opposed to dragging that out and having it be the only thing going on. It's certainly at the heart of it, but it doesn't just feel like you're watching a rehash of Can't Hardly Wait or Trojan War where the focus stays in the same place. Those movies are fine but we've seen that unfold plenty of times.

I don't know why exactly, perhaps it has something to do with the good casting? I'll watch it again soon and see if I can determine exactly why I like it, but for know I just know that I do.

What is it about it that made you like it so much? I really wasn't expecting to, but there's something about it that places it a tier higher than basically everything in its genre that I've seen.

Should be, it's a great movie that deserves a much higher rating.

I usually seem to not really enjoy movies like this but this is actually my favorite film of 2004, and I'm not quite sure what makes it any different from others. I hate Van Wilder and Miss March but love this and EuroTrip.
