If I were to compile a list of terrible autrocities commited in the name of cinema, the lead this movie would have over all other movies would be so great that it would be hard to call any other movie its equal in awfulness. Think of the acting careers of Tom Green, Chris Kattan and Uday Hussein. Nothing they have ever done rivals how bad this movie was. Given the choice between watching it and a red hot poker crammed in your urethra, don't be so quick to select the movie.

I wouldn't say it's the worst movieobviously there are far worse. But, the script (dialogue) really needed work. The directing was crap. The acting by James Franco is some of his best. (Since then, his acting has beenuneven, often.) DeNiro is one of my favorite actors EVERbut, I disliked his heavy-handed performance in this. Secondary & background actors weren't altogether forgettable, but not quite memorable. Locations were suitable for this storylike a once-vibrant painting, now faded. Considering the storyline, it's fitting. Overall, it was a very good story that would've been great had the script been re-worked & a better director been in charge. Meh
