I agree. I'm American and I think it's absolutely hysterical. A lot of jokes might not make sense if you don't know the slang and there's a lot of puns based on accents.

FWIW, I'm American, and I think the show is exceptionally funny. Yes, I'm sure I'm missing
some
of the humor, but the show is so great that it doesn't matter Riley, Turner, and Szubanski are brilliant, and the characters are recognizable types to viewers in any industrialized/developed nation.
The OP is probably just trying to pick a fight; no nation as a whole has good or bad taste or solely good/solely bad ANYTHING.
