This is an old story from 2011. Things may be different.
I can't judge Tarsem Singh as I saw only one film of his, IMMORTALS. I thought it was a very stylish film with an okay story.
So, while I'd love to see a live-action Samurai Jack, I would not say Singh would fit as director. I'd rather have Tartakovsky try a live-action version.

Written and directed by Michael Bay. "So, like Jack will show up and he'll be like KAPRAW!!!" Bay throws papers into the air

Agreed, something in the style of 300 could work very well.

Since Tartakovsky animated both of the Hotel Transylvania movies, I think he could do really well with remaking/extending the Samurai Jack universe. However, I do think that Samurai Jack could do really will as a live-action movie.

Tartakovsky doing a CGI/Animated film would be better.
As in, keep it 3D animated, but take something of a page from the Beowulf/Tintin movie and go for a 'stylized' CGI animation that isn't ultra-cartoonybut still has room for strong colors and 'animated' style imagery..don't do a CGI film and try to make it look completely like live action.
I think it could be pretty brilliant.and definitely go for a PG-13 rating, without a doubt.
