I think it all depends on what you get and why. My tats have meaning to me and I love all 6 of them. (Yes, even after 20 years.)

any one who poo poos tattoos is just a chicken sh*t when it comes to getting one. i have two already and have no regrets. i wear mine like a badge of honor that i sat and endured pain.

Untrue statement! I had a tatoo in my younger years, as I got older, wished I had not done it. Paid more having it removed. What I learned? Things change throughout your lifetime, something as permanent as a tatoo was a dumb mistake (for me) to each their own. I am thankful mine did not have colors, otherwise the laser treatment would not have been as successful.

One of my friends used to say that all the time. Turns out, she always wanted one, didn't have the guts to get one, though, and she was bitter towards people who had them. Those were her exact words after she finally got up her nerve to get one.

Wow it really sucks that people think that if you get a tattoo you are uncomfortable in your skin. I have three, and I'm a girl and they are all three things that I chose to get inked permanently on to my skin because they make me more confident. They are representative of the person I was and the person I am becoming over time. It's really proof that someone is uncomfortable when they trash other people's choices for what they do and don't do to their body, especially when it doesn't effect them personally.

Why would anyone want to draw attention to thier skin (by getting body art) if they felt uncomfortable in it? Not all of mine are visible when I'm dressed or if my hair is down, but every one means something special to me, and I love them all! To each his/her own.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. In my opinion, You're wrong. With the criticism that tattoo owners get all the time(especially tattooed women), It's mandatory to feel comfortable in your own skin.

Tatoos are only for those uncomfortable in their own skin, no matter how much they say to the contrary.
