The truth is, Vic would seem heroic is some episodes and corrupt and evil as **** in others. It wasn't all black and white. That was the beauty of the show. One episode you'd be rooting for a character, and in another, you'd hope they'd die. The character of Shane Vendrell epitomized that….

The few parts I watched made them seem like heroes.
There's a part where this ridiculous villain, like so over-the-top, has that fat **** bald guy come in and say "I'm a different kind of cop," all threatening. It tried to make him look good, like a corrupt cop who beats up people during an interrogation is a hero.

It never made any of the strike team members out to be heroes. Did you even watch at all?

Same reason I didn't like The Green Mile. Fuckin' prison guards in the South were portrayed like Boy Scouts, they wouldn't even harm a mouse. Yeah ****in' right, in reality they would be these racist, disgusting ****heads with stupid names like Buford.

It is to me. If you have Hulu access, the remastered episodes are on there.

Yes, but that's not new. The last DVD set was 16:9 as well.
The Shield
was actually shot 16:9 and cropped to 4:3 for TV. So it's not cropped to get a 16:9 picture, it's actually opened up.

Got the Blu Ray set. It's pretty sweet, but not much new content. The reunion get together is cool though.
Sad the one episode is messed up, but glad I got the set.

Just got Hulu yesterday!!! I Will be watching that after I get my archer fix

I haven't received my set yet, but the new transfers are available on Hulu (and Vudu) and they look great. I'm mostly excited to watch the reunion special features on the new set.
Apparently Shawn Ryan just learned about this yesterday, and he seems genuinely concerned. Hopefully, we'll be able to get replacement discs down the road.
