Pakistan literally means Pak-land, or land of the pak. estan means land in farsi.It's the same with Afghans, Kasachs and all the other -estans.No one would say she is "Afghanistani".

It's not the word it's the intention and history behind the use of the word. Although it's strange you ask this in relation to a film centred around British, Indian Sikh culture. Do yourself a favour, look up the word ignorant in a dictionary.
