I think they're a great band and the lead singer has a beautiful and captivating voice. Why was Amanda Bynes begging her father to not say he liked The Bee Gees. She must not have good taste in music lol
Don't worry be happy

Nothing at all is wrong with them. Back when war was declared on disco music, they were part of the casualties because of their contribution to disco due to Saturday Night Fever. People like to be followers so they followed the "bash anything having to do with disco trend" and taught their kids to do the same.

Little Feat was much better.

Interesting statement, what with EDM dominating music today (a cousin of disco for sure). Compare the number of dance-related musical artists on the chart over the last decade to rock songs hitting the pop charts and it's clear that in the long run, disco has kicked rock's ass.

I guess disco was kind of like mainstream music today. I don't like "trends" either.

I like disco, too. I didn't when I was younger, but not because I had actually listened to it or anything. But because that was "the cool" thing to do. The disco backlash happened when I was rather young, but I do vaguely remember it and all the "disco sucks" propaganda that lasted way longer than it should have.

lol, Well I like Disco and don't think Disco was as bad as people made it out to be. Obviously it had a huge impact, if rock fans had to destroy it because of the competition.

I'm a huge Bee Gees fan and I was very annoyed at this scene. Though, I do see where it was coming from. Obviously, a young girl like Daphne, would only know the "disco" side of the Bee Gees. I admit, when I was younger, I thought Bee Gees = yuck, even though I only knew the songs from "Saturday Night Fever".
I think Henry could have explained to her that the Bee Gees were so much more BEFORE (and after) disco.

It was a "disco sucks" joke. Daphne clearly had some taste to put on Rick Derringer at the market.
