Well written arc showing Brent attempting to establish his value to the entire office - both Slough and Swinden.
Both Brent and Gervais go through many range of emotions woven seamlessly with the scenes when he interacts with the office. We see him sad smug upset embarrassed frustrated. The scene when he's telling Slough about drinks at lunch with Swinden it really sounds like he's crying.
So much going on in one episode. One of my favorite episodes in the series.
