What do you think is the scariest scene in the whole movie? For me it is the part where Samara climbs out of the well and into the tv.

The brief glimpse of the teen girl who was scared to death by Samara almost made me **** my pants.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

#1. The Introduction. One of the best openings to a horror film ever.
#2. The fast cut to the girl in the closet. shudder It still freaks me out to this day.
#3. Samara's face of hatred at Noah. Just awesome.
#4. The tape itself. Like "watching someone's nightmare."
"I learned that in prison, you like? You white trash piece-a sh!t."

The most beep up scene was when Rachel realised that Samara was evil. The pure hatred that Samara has on her face haunts me.

Samara crawling through the TV, but it is really close between that and the opening

Whole film was scary as beep to me! The whole mood/setting with that bluish/greenish hue and almost always raining, the eerie music associated with it everything about it was just encapsulated so well! There's a reason I love this film so much.
But above all else, Samara really stuck with me. Before I watched the film, I had seen the trailer over and over and over and never really had a clue that this film involved a ghost girl. I never knew what was on the tape besides "A woman smiling at you, watching you" or whatever she says. Having Samara in there, and the well, the TV etc it was the perfect level of spook. Was afraid to walk around corners in my house for weeks!
(I was 14 at the time it came out too, mind you)

The beginning does a reaaaally good job at setting the mood. The relatively short dream sequence was good as well. One of the most tense moments for me is when Naomi Watts gets knocked into the actual well, which closes once she's at the bottom. There's just no foreseeable escape in that scene, and you know Samara is down there.
I found all of those scarier than the final, climbing out of the tv.

Before I even clicked on your post I said the scariest scene is when that girl jumps out the tv lol. Must be

They way she flickered as she approached Noah had a real effect on me. Almost like a real ghost would do i would imagine. My VCRs tracking went all wonky when testing a Star Wars Box set i was selling and i almost had to stop.

Same thing happened in the original. Neither scared me, but it would scare the average watcher so that's good enough. Although the ones in the original didn't look nearly as horrible as the one in The Ring.

One that sticks out is the girl in the closet. No one saw that coming. It isn't all THAT scary if you think about it. Its just how it came out of nowhere. "I Saw Her Face" and boom!! Screwed face girl scares everyone.
I agree with your pick also. First time I saw her go from one side of the room to the next, it really jolted me.
