<p dir="auto">Everything in this movie was perfect , the director really did a good job in capturing the moody aspect of this movie . The follow up was no way near as good because it was a different director .</p>

<p dir="auto">I totally agree. The tone of this film (with the music, et al) is the scariest thing about it, plus pretty much every actor involved. Ironically, Hideo Nakata came off directing Ringu and Ringu 2, and totally botched the American sequel. His style doesn't really translate over well here.<br />
