Disingenuous headline. This was just the consequence of granting ex-prisoners the right to vote, which seems like a decent idea. The article concerns sex offenders who were released from prison, and then put into psychiatric facilities for mental health issues. It was only 77 people total, so it's not like it was done because crazy pedo's votes are valuable. It's just an unintended consequence.
All were granted conditional pardons from Cuomo under a new policy designed to give back the right to vote to those who leave prison.
