<p dir="auto">I think that was one of the few clues that was never actually explained. I'd imagine it was simply the the curses effect.<br />
However, do keep in mind the faces the bodies are contorted into upon death. Faces of stretched out terror, so it was possibly just foreshadowing their death pose.</p>

<p dir="auto">I guess the effect is supposed to resemble looking at somebody who is submerged underwater, or perhaps looking at somebody<br />
from<br />
underwater.<br />
Why did the curse do that specifically? Not sure. That's the intended effect though.<br />
