This movie genre is drama and crime as far as I can see. It's unbelievable that they didn't add biography as well.
Lukas Moodysson was inspired by Danguole Rasalaite destiny and the similarity with Lilya are many, especially the important ones.
For instance.

1. Danguoles mother left her when she was 14 and went to America with a man.
2. The letter from her mother was similiar but crueller for Danguole than what we saw in the movie.
3. She met an older guy who asked if she wanted to come to Sweden. He said he could fix a job for her.
4. She traveled to Sweden with a fake passport that was taken away from her by the older man who was her contact.
5. She was held prisoner in the apartment in Arlv.
6. She jumped from a bridge in Malm and died 3 days later.
