well, yes and no, it IS a bright light, but if they really wanted to they could take off their jacket and put it over their head and use it to cover the light, did they do that as any smart person would? NO

I think that stick is brighter than the internal light car so it was a silly idea to use it to avoid been seeing.

You can get them at heaps of different places. They're used in Oceans 11 too when they go down the elevator shaft.
