Ashley has one, count 'em ONE Bachelor's degree. No Master's degree. No PhD. She is an avid reader and she's fluent in French. She's a smart girl - no question about it, and she reads the dictionary for FUN. (???)

Perhaps she doesn't TRY to sound smarter than everyone else. You might consider that she actually IS smarter. You said yourself that she has multiple Masters' Degrees. There is no reason for an educated person to try to dumb down their opinions so that the world will like them more. Furthermore, the idea that "she should just not talk ever" would never be suggested with regards to an equally well-spoken male actor.
