Okay, so I trolled through the board to find out what Mike's last words were: "See you later, stranger." (Glad I wasn't the only one to rewind, play, rewind, play and still not work out what the heck it was that he mumbled!)
Anyhow I thought Ashley Judd's character shot Sam Jackson's character before he had a chance to shoot Mike. But, now that I know what Mike's last words in the movie were they sound like the last words of a dying man. Did Sam Jackson's character manage to shoot him, after all?
(I only finished watching it 5 minutes ago, and the only name I can remember is Mike!)

I was under the impression he was just succumbing to the roofies he had ingested, not dying.
