I get the feeling shooting the movie on video was intentional, but I think it was a bad, distracting move to an otherwise pretty good thriller. I really like the premise and it's played out well, with good acting and a number of very suspenseful moments, especially the last fifteen minutes. My other complaint is the daytime setting. While it seems practical so that the killer can see his victims, it fails to establish the ambience and atmosphere I was hoping for (they could have set it at night and just given the killer night-vision goggles).
There's not much plot, but the premise is more than enough to keep things interesting for at least a while. The rest relies on the direction and acting, both of which are actually very solid and occasionally superb. I initially had the impression that none of the three women trapped in the house were really going to be in much danger the whole film, but when one of them is "killed off" fairly early into the movie, the suspense became far more palpable and effective.

Maybe from the same store where he bought his stupid little crossbow toy. Setting this movie during the day was a stupid idea. The video look wasn't intentional- it was due to the complete lack of budget. I won't try to supply any specific evidence here, but this movie is utterly awful- if you want to know why then check out my comment.

The fact that the film is set in the daytime is one of the more original facets of this film. There are thousands of horror films set in darkness, but this one deliberately took a new twist on things. I think it is interesting that the typical premise was flip-flopped in this film, and that daylight = danger while darkness = safety. Besides, where would that particular killer have gotten night vision goggles?
