This is not Ju-On The Grudge 1, which alot of you people seem to think it is.
Just to remind or inform everyone that this is Ju-On The Curse, which also has a sequel Ju-On The Curse 2, which are both made for TV movies. To what I know, these 2 movies haven't been released in America.
Ju-On The Grudge 1 & 2 are both Theatrical released movies that were made because of the success of these two TV movies. These two have been released on DVD in America. And is probably what most of you have seen.

Ju-On The Grudge 1 & 2 are not remakes of Ju-On The Curse 1 & 2. They are different stories.
The US The Grudge remake, was a remake of Ju-On The Grudge 1.

I know alot of people DO know this, but it's just that so many people have come here thinking it's Ju-On The Grudge 1, and they have probably voted for it here too. And if you look in the forums, alot of people have been confused.

Whatever is on FearNet right now looks like a two hour movie they cut into two 75-minute movies, with a repeat of the overlapping half hour. That's pretty cheap. And I don't see what's so special about these movies anyway. They had some really creepy moments but overall it's kinda goofy and doesn't make much sense.

was the TV movie that came out in 1998. It contained
Katasumi
and
4444444444
, which were preludes to the Ju-on saga.
Ju-on and Ju-on 2 (2000) were straight to video, not 'made for TV'.

no problem. Oh yeah, I heard about people getting them on Ebay, but I was hoping they'd have a release here, but that won't happen because I just read on some other forum that Shimizu announced there'll never be a release over here of the two "Ju-On The curse" movies which I don't understand why. There must be some good reason
And yeah I know how confused and frustrated I was when I heard about these two tv movies and came to this forum I was so confused, and yes especially since this has the exact same poster as JTG1.. I wish someone would change it.

hello. THANK YOU SO MUCH ADVENT CHYLD!!! I was looking at a thread called Ju-On VS. The Grudge. And i thought, the first saga vs. the second saga of the Japanese films. But then, they started saying stuff that got me confused. I wanted to read up on the first set of TV movies aka. "Ju-On: The Curse" films. But the pic on this thread is the american release english dub dvd of "Ju-On: The Grudge 1". Thank god you set me straight. it pissed me off cuz other's don't know whats going on, on this thread. BTW. if you'd like, i know where to get the original unaltered Ju-On: The Curse 1 and 2 in Jap. with Eng. Subs. on DVD. It's easy, you can find them on eBay. In one dvd set for $10! That's where i'm getting them. I've already seen the english dub Jap. versions of Ju-On: The Grudge seriesso

So that is what the diffence between Ju-on and Ju-on: The Grudge and Ju-on 2 and Ju-on: The Grudge 2 are. I saw two different listings and was wondering. Do you know if they are going to make Ju-on and Ju-on 2 on DVD in America?
