It's very similar to Ding Dong Merrily on High but I don't think it's completely the same. The melody certainly has classic English folk song structure but it's not a familiar song to me. It may be I just don't know the tune it's based on or it may be original.
But if it reminds the OP of something, then it's mostly likely Ding Dong Merrily on High that they're thinking of.
