This happened a while back, a month or so, the actual confession was from two years ago. One of the killers (I will assume that he really was one) confessed to his brother, who only spoke up recently. It was "the Giant", the man on the far right of the photo. In the 1980s in Belgium these men attacked supermarkets and killed indiscriminately, only taking small amounts of cash, if that, and sometimes food items. They were known for their small takes and their brutality, among other oddities. There were rumors that the attacks were a cover for assassinations. Other people thought they may have been a part of Gladio type network of far right elements in the gendarmerie who were trying to destabilize the Belgian state, not a difficult task, like had happened in Italy, perhaps. The man who confessed indeed was a member of the gendarmerie. I thought this was going to be one that would never be cracked open.
