I understand that he uses different styles and techniques in his various films. He reminds me a little of Godard in that way.But I just got so tired of his particular point of view at the time I saw Manderlay that I just posted that sarcastic screed.

The plays and theatre techiques of Bertolt Brecht are not supposed to be realistic (even if there are naturalistic aspects) or even "balanced" in any way. They are social and political satire/allegory, biased as a principle.
People dislike von Trier's latest films simply because they don't even know what it is they are watching, and they don't care to know, and they are entitled not to care. However, true ignorance is not lack of knowledge. True ignorance is not caring to know/understand other points of view.
Furthermore, you don't really need to agree with the artist's views in order to enjoy his work. That's really what Art is about - getting to know other people's views through a given medium.
The void is a mirror.

No one (including the director) has ever proposed that these films are intended to be balanced. They're outrageously biased. Dogville and Manderlay are highly literal, simplified, and cartoonish portraits of American life. Like a child's interpretation. They may not be "fair," oh, but what truth there is in them.
