<p dir="auto">I didn't really understand what Timothy had in general to do with the story. I'm sure I missed something, because I was really tired when I saw this. I didn't undertsand what was with the sex scene, or the whipping scene either? I'm confused, so can someone explain?<br />

<p dir="auto">The "twist" was that the slave codes were made by the old slave (Wilhelm). Timothy acted like a proudy negro, but he really was a pleasing negro who acted that way to take advantage of Grace, steal the money, etc.<br />
As for the rest, to simplify it, it's about the failure (even hypocrisy) of idealism in the harsh reality.</p>
