To Superman 1&2
Continuity was all over the place in Superman Returns, it was unclear if it was a sequel to Superman 1&2 or a reboot of the Donnerverse, characters and locations are redesigned to the point where they feel disconnected from the universe being continued.
Like Jor El was just a recording not an AI, The Daily Planet is more art deco and nothing like 78.
The redesigned suit feels like a different version of Superman that isn't Christopher Reeve.
Superman Returns feels like Superman 2 never happened, Jor El in Returns was just a recording not an AI mentor so how did Superman lose and get back his powers?
The film wanted to be a sequel and wants to be a reboot but never picks a side.
The film wanted to reimagine Superman and Lois as a tragic love story, it could've worked but here it drains the characters of any momentum.
