The whole Lois loves Superman but resents Clark feels dated, it worked pre 1986 but since then a lot had changed.
Having Lois gradually falling for Clark and him revealing his identity is what we get in Lois & Clark, Smallville, Man Of Steel and Superman & Lois.

I didn't like any of the actresses but it was due to the acting and writing.
In the original comics, Lois is the type of woman who is shallow, bitchy, and is attracted to guys like gangsters. She's a hoochie type.
Clark sees that she is smart and so forth but not a person with good values. She thinks Clark is wimpy, but really he's not a showy braggart like she likes.
She's the typical young woman who likes "bad boys" and that's a well known type of woman back in the 30s and now.
It's why Clark won't tell her he's Superman because she would instantly like him. He wants Lois to like him, not Superman.
That's the whole point of the story.
I don't know why they don't show that more. It's got more film quality drama and characterization.
In the movies she's always supportive and Lois is NOT supportive.
