If you were to ask me who Lois should've been ideally, Courteney Cox, she's Lois not Kate Bosworth.

Parker Posey could've been Lois in this movie instead of Kate Bosworth, who was miscast as Lois, she was too young 22 years old at the time and has none of the elements that other actresses brought to the character, she doesn't have the big dark eyes that Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher or Erica Durance and she doesn't have the tough edge that they have.

they could've switched roles - Parker as the Kidder like Lois (she even looks like her like the way Routh looked like Reeve, and the fact she was older would tie in with STM - Kidder being older than Reeve, but also Superman probably wouldn't age as much as humans anyway so itd make sense for her to be an older Lois with a child after Superman had disappeared for years) and then Bosworth as Kitty (younger Miss Techmarker type) with Lex having taken her under his wing/more of a father figure to her

Just seen this movie for the first time and I thought exactly the same thing. I mean the MO of this film seems to be to emulate the Donner films and the casting is all pretty close to the performances given by the original castall except Lois Lane. Margot Kidder was plucky, feisty and had real spark. Parker posey would have been a far better choice, her or Courtney Cox.
Kate Bosworth's performance is bland, dull and lifeless. She's completely wooden and you can see her acting. The casting of her role is the missing element that would have made this film a worthy successor to thd Donner films.

I would've preferred Amy Acker. I think she would've been awesome, and she's close to Routh's age.
