On Season 3, Episode 3 - "True Colors" George Hearst is eating peach cobbler made by his personal cook / maid. As he is eating the cobber, he picks up a small, white plate and sucks it, then goes back to forking the peach cobbler. He does this several times. What is on that white plate? Is it a type of syrup or something? Does anyone know? Cheers! Deadwood is a great show!

Many Thanks, Blitzslay! I was thinking the same thing but did not want to say for fear of getting verbally trounced upon. I'm currently on Season 2, Episode 4, and absolutely loving it!! Cannot wait for the new forthcoming movie.

Stop making political comments, please. My Wife & I watch Deadwood to get away from politics. I get 1-hour a night with my bride. Let's talk about Deadwood. Thanks.

He's sipping his coffee out of the saucer to cool the temperature of it down. It's amusing- sort of a childish thing for him to be doing, and I think he only does so in front of Aunt Lou.
