How can you have her on the show and not give her a chance to speak? Those other two guys dominated the whole panel with their yelling. I really wanted to see Tomi do her thing because whether you agree with her or not, she's always interesting. I couldn't wait to see Tomi on the show (for more reasons than one) and ended up disappointed.

I was fine she barely spoke. She never answers questions, so whether she talks or not, you're not missing anything.

I agree. I wanted more from the panel.
More discussion topics. We didn't need Michael Eric Dyson to ramble on for so long.
This was still an enjoyable show though, outside of the lazy Final New Rule.

She may be a dummy but she's not wrong about that statement. Didn't watch the Super Bowl or the ad itself however.

She's a dummy.

Every panelist has the same chance to dominate the conversation as any other. It's not like she was trying to speak and they told her to shut up or talked over her. And even if they did, that's what the show is about, heated discussion. The original elevator pitch for Real Time (and Politically Incorrect before it) was "a political discussion at a cocktail party where people have had a few drinks and aren't that far from coming to blows." The panelists often do try to shut each other down, but the guests worth their salt are able to speak up anyway. But yes I was surprised she was so quiet, she had plenty of chances to speak but she didn't. Seemed obvious to me she was holding back. She had just as much chance as anyone and she kept her big mouth shut for once. Come to think of it, it was actually kinda nice. She's worse than SE Cupp.
More like SE *unt

It'd be interesting to see if someone timed the three panel members, because I thought there was waaaay tooo much Tomi. Maher seems to have a thing for obnoxious Republican women. I thought she took away from Wilson and Kander. Though I did like that they balanced her out with a reasonable Republican on the panel, but he didn't get enough time. Will give Tomi props for surprising Jason Kander being able to name the Benghazi victims.

Your attempt at "civil" discussion came off disingenuous anyway.
The only person addressed in this discussion who doesn't seem capable of being civil is Lahren, who proved that once again by only making a few snarky comments when she DID try to participate in the discussion, which did nothing to make her appear as if she really had anything to say anyway.

by AdaephonDelat If she is as stupid as you seem to think, then why not give her her the rope to hang herself? By not letting her finish a sentence you just make her look like a victim, which is exactly what you're railing against. Your hyperbole about giving her 10 to 15 minute answers isn't useful to the conversation.
You do realize that it's YOU who is STILL trying to claim victim status for Lahren though don't you, both by blaming others for Lahren not participating in the conversation as much as YOU obviously think she should have, and, by suggesting that me referring to Lahrens historically real uninterrupted rants on her own show amount to hyperbole?
And please don't put words in my mouth. I never said I thought Lahren was stupid. I will say that I think she comes off as a privileged, biased, sorority-type white girl who has likely never had to personally deal with the types of prejudices she tries to claim don't exist, but that doesn't mean I think she's stupid, only that she's hypocritically ignorant about what she's talking about most of the time and that she goes off on her rants simply because she likes the attention she gets from saying things that she IS smart enough to know are going to make her comments controversial.
That's the same exact formula most other conservative blatherers like Lahren use anyway.
by AdaephonDelat As someone who was introduced to her by this episode of Maher, I'm left with an entirely unformed opinion on her, because of how everything played out.
Which means you knew nothing of the uninterrupted rants I was referring to, meaning you attacked me based on your own ignorance of the person you're defending.
Well played sir.

by AdaephonDelat You're the only one bringing your biases to the table.
There's this thing called a mirror. Maybe you've heard of them?
Lahren was given plenty of opportunities to speak, and the fact is, the majority of the time she simply choked because she was obviously nervous to be theredue to her own mindset.
Maher even THANKED her for being there conceding that he understood the position she was in.
How much more respect should Maher have given her10 or 15 minutes to go off on one of her uninterrupted rants that she gets to have when she's on her own show?
She accepted an invitation to
Mahers
show. If she didn't do her homework to get herself prepared to claim FOR HERSELF the amount of time you apparently have in mind that you would have considered fairthat's her fault. It's not like this was the first time Mahers' show had aired after all.

So you're claiming victim status for Lahren already?
I've personally found it amusing how the Fox News Network and many in the conservative party have adopted that characterization for themselves over the last year or so in an obvious effort to portray themselves (the wealthy defending the wealthy in the case of the Fox News corporation) as the underdogs. One of their shows is called "Outnumbered" of all things.
Rather than claiming no one else "gave her a chance", why not call it like it actually appeared in that she was just too nervous to do anything for the majority of the time but interject short sarcastic comments. And I say nervous because it looked like she was breathing heavily the entire time the panel was having it's discussion.
Maybe if Lahren hadn't gone into the studio with an underdog/victim/outnumbered mindset that had her imagining she was under attack the entire time, she'd have been calm enough to take part in the discussion in a rational and objective manner like the other panelists did? (Rhetorical).
