Hi guys,
I'm planning on writing a series of articles examining recent cinematic catastrophes, films that don't quite work, failed at the the box-office, troubled productions etc
Interestingly enough Babylon A.D meets all these requirements.
The film has lingered in my mind for some years simply because of how messy and poorly assembled it is in theatrical form; it's fascinating to think the old Fox regime saw this as in any way release-worthy. It's a movie, that clearly at one point in its production, had alot of interesting ideas and notions to disspel, but which unfortunately fell victim to a meddling studio. I don't like the feature, in fact I think due to its ham-fisted second and third acts it's an incomprehensible dirge, but I would love to hear from those who see it differently. Clearly many of you here are fans and it would be intriguing to hear what works for you about this one - particularly even as the film-maker (the talented Kassovitz) regards it as a total turkey.
If anybody has any concrete information or even theories and opinions about the troubled production and the rumoured existence of a longer cut, I would love to hear it
Cheers guys.
yo hola

Some scenes was filmed close my country Finland. Don't know why. Budgetary reasons? The scenes supposedly should take place in Alaska and a frozen Bering sea, is it not?
