I saw the movie few days ago, decent effort from Hopper, I liked it.
I think the atmosphere is great and reminicent of italian horror milestones! Check it out:
1.the secret passages in the building is very similar to Dario Argento's Inferno (with a little Barton Fink thrown in the mix), the whole process of finding the clues and keys to the mystery of the building is also present in both films.
2.the killer is pretty much the same gimmick as in House by the Cemetary from master Lucio Fulci. Dr.Freudstein is an very old crook who's being kept alive by mystic forces, slays people and hides in the building.
What do you think?

I agree and the "coffin baby" References to Phenomena I think. Its been ages since I have seen it but I think the killer there was refered to as being either a coffin birth or a baby mistakenly buried alive?
