SPOILER for episode 3
That bleached-blonde guy Dan - he had his occupation listed as "actor." Well he'd better start looking for another line of work, cuz he's the only guy so far that was SO obviously straight. Plus he got caught up in his own lies, so he sure sucks at improv too.
Always remember - half the people you know are below average.

"For lessons on straight men portraying gays, Dan should have watched "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" with Guy Pearce or "Kiss of the Spider Woman" with William Hurt."
Oh yeah cause all gay men are nelly drag queens, right? What a stupid, asinine and narrow-minded thing to say. And to top it all off, you pick two of the most flamboyantly over-the-top performances you could think of outside of blatant parody.

Aaaahhh, Dan. Where to start? With his own entrance I suppose: DAN-ACTOR.
Heh. I went back and forth for about 10 minutes between two obvious stances.
The first, being the only actor at the house meant he should be one of the straighties; the indicating factor being his particular skills to act gay 'well.'
The second, nevermind, I lived in LA, actors are clearly homos every time!
Clever Show!? Just how far did the producers go to make a game for us? It drove me mad. That is, until another 20 or so minutes later (in the pilot I remind you- so they're all out at the pool drinking exotic looking drinks and pretending to have a good time with too many strangers around trying to catch the eye of one person, while trying to be found comfortable and social). That's when our boy Dan makes 4 or 5 mindblowing comments which point him straight - In it to Win it.
I was shocked that all his comments were aired like that, albeit frantic and almost unintelligible as they were. (Rewinding made the pilot a completely different show than the first viewing.)
To be fair, SilverSpawn, we've no clue right now if the other straight guys made mistakes like Dan. Editing makes its own stories. From what I saw, none of the straight guys have a chance, just as a lot of the gays didn't make good enough connections. But Dan looked like the only straight guy that wasn't just sitting there doing nothing, hoping to be passed to the next day. Lol. I wonder why the show decided to flagrantly show us upfront that he was one of the imposters. I still would have hated him if they hadn't just cause of his character, but the game might have been more fun. Who knows!
I was very hostile when he wasn't kindly let go on the first show. They gave him so much airtime, they should have booted the man like everyone else! So I admit anything he had to say after that I wanted to hit him very hard, anything to make him out of sight out of mind.
But of course Dan does the most spectacular thing this week when he is cast off. I fell for his honesty and poignancy when addressing the camera for the last time. It seemed like one of the first times we had actually seen him speak. And he leaves with dignity and respect when he says that he is in the way of the Boy's and Andra's quest to finding true love for him, and should be kicked off.
One last attempt at acting? Maybe. I choose to believe.
Bye Dan - and good luck. Stay away from unscripted situations, dear.
What did everyone else think?
Splen~
