He rarely gets shot or stabbed and always seems to evade gunfire. He could've easily had a cloth suit with a leather cowl, if needed protection he would have armour around his chest and shoulders like a real life Kevlar vest.

Yes, they were going for a more modern look. And if not in Batman Begins, I belief he does get stabbed/shot in some of the Nolan films. I suppose it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

They were going for a modern look. And if not in Batman Begins, I belief he does get stabbed/shot in some of the Nolan films. I suppose it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Also, it's a ****ing superhero movie. A good one, but that's really all it is. Who cares?
