Instead of heavy armor, if you wanted flexible, lighter armor with fabric on top.

I kind of like what they did.
What I didn't like was the mask seemed a little tight on Bale's face.
His lips seem to push up and out like the nose part of the costume is too long and pokes his mouth or something.
But for what Christopher Nolan gave us, I'm alright with it.
I really enjoyed the suit in Batman Begins even though it was impossible for him to move his neck.
Affleck's costume feels fresh since it's the first of any Batman movies to use more of a Kevlar mesh fabric kind of suit

On Begins they didn't have a lot of time to completely redesign how the suit is made. TDK suit did look over designed, the 100 pieces of armor don't look that secure since they're exposed because a piece might come off in battle, kevlar vests have the armor plates go in a pocket so you wouldn't see them, they could've made the TDK suit like a kevlar vest if they wanted lighter, plate pockets on his chest, back, arms and legs.

Ballistic vests have hidden plate pockets for armor plating to go in, so the armor would not be visible on the outside of the suit just padded bits all over.

Actually armor plating under the fabric, in the comics he has like a kevlar vest underneath, fooling criminals inro thinking he aren't bulletproof.

The problem is, all hoods carry guns! Batman '66 wouldn't last a day here in the present with that lightweight costume! The only armor I can think of had to do with B & R's shoes! Robin was shot in the foot, but had protection on the bottom of his "booties!"
